Afghanistan a stunning win against Australia



In the first major upset of the T20 World Cup, Afghanistan defeated Australia. In the match held at MCG, Afghanistan won by 48 runs, marking their first victory over Australia in the tournament.


Australia won the toss and elected to bowl first. Afghanistan set a target of 148 runs, losing 8 wickets in their 20 overs. Opener Hazratullah Zazai played a commendable innings of 48 runs. Captain Mohammad Nabi scored 51 runs, while Najibullah Zadran contributed 27 runs.


In response, the Australian team was all out for 127 runs in 18.4 overs. Afghanistan's bowlers dominated, with Rashid Khan taking 3 wickets, Mujeeb Ur Rahman taking 2 wickets, and Naveen-ul-Haq taking 2 wickets as well.


This win by Afghanistan marks a historic achievement in their cricket history, as it is their first win against a top-tier team in the World Cup. The Afghan players celebrated this significant victory with great enthusiasm and energy.
